Buy the ingredients; bake the cookies to sell to family, friends, and neighbors. It is a wonderful family project. While children are touched with compassion in feeding the hungry, they also learn some basic business and social skills. A $50 dollar investment in ingredients could return $300 to 500 in donations.
Bring your group to volunteer with us. Now we can only handle groups of 5 to 10; 5 at the preparation site and 10 at the feeding site. Invite some coworkers, classmates or neighbors to join you for an uplifting experience in feeding the hungry. We can use your help in, cutting vegetables, packing the bags, passing the food or doing dishes.
Put a Donation Box in a place of business or in a church. We have two different sizes: one that fits on a counter, the size of a large (2 lbs.) oatmeal container; and the other the size of a 5 gallon bucket standing on the floor on its own. Churches may welcome them one Sunday a month or on special occasions such as Christmas.
PASS "OUR DAILY BREAD"
“We feed the hungry royally and their souls with the word of God.” And so, if all we do is give people a hot delicious meal, we have missed the mark. We are responsible to introduce them to the Bread of Life which is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Help us share our Love, our Joy, and our Peace. One way is help us pass “Our Daily Bread”.
RECRUIT LOCAL BUSINESSES
Ask local businesses to sponsor a certain number of meals a month. They cost us about $2.50 each. We can provide the pictures for a picture album that will help you make a presentation. $25 pays for about 10 meals. $50 pays for about 20 meals. $100 pays for about 40 meals.
Pray for our relationships; with our guests that they will come to know Jesus the bread of life; with our donors and volunteers that their love, joy and peace and general resources will overflow; with our partnering church leaders that they will consistently make new disciples who in turn will consistently make new disciples.
